It is generally accepted that scientists and engineers are more multi-platform than any other computer user. Even so, one of the most common questions we hear at the MacSciTech office is "Which should I buy, a Macintosh or a cheap clone running Windows_" Our answer always involves more
questions: "Which platform lets you get your job done most efficiently_ Which platform has the third-party apps you need for your specialized needs_ Which platform gives you the best performance for the buck_"
